3 Table 7 describes the fields to view or configure on the LAN Settings page. Table 7 LAN Settings Field Descriptions Field Hostname Description DNS name (host name) for the access point. The DNS name has the following requirements: • Maximum of 20 characters • Only letters, numbers and dashes. Double quote (") is not a valid character. MAC Address Management VLAN ID • Must start with a letter and end with either a letter or a number MAC address for the Ethernet port on this access point. This is a read-only field that you cannot change. Enter a number between 1 and 4094 for the management VLAN ID used on your network. The default management VLAN ID is 1. Untagged VLAN Enable or disable VLAN tagging. If you enable the untagged VLAN, all traffic is tagged with a VLAN ID. By default all traffic on the access point uses VLAN 1, the default untagged VLAN. This means that all traffic is untagged until you disable the untagged VLAN, change the untagged traffic VLAN ID, or change the VLAN ID for a VAP or client using RADIUS. Untagged VLAN Provide a number between 1 and 4094 for the untagged ID VLAN ID. Traffic on the VLAN that you specify in this field is not tagged with a VLAN ID. Connection Type If you select DHCP, the access point acquires its IP address, subnet mask, DNS, and gateway information from a DHCP server.
