4 Wireless Modifying Advanced Settings Table 19 Advanced Settings Field Descriptions Field Transmit Power Description Select the value for the transmit power level for this access point: • Low • Medium • High • Full The default value, which is Full, can be more cost-efficient than a lower level since it gives the access point a maximum broadcast range and reduces the number of access points needed. To increase capacity of the network, place access points closer together and reduce the value of the transmit power. This helps reduce overlap and interference among access points. A lower transmit power setting can also keep your network more secure because weaker wireless signals are less likely to propagate outside of the physical location of your network.
