www.dell.com | support.dell.com 3 Remove the filler bracket. 4 Slide the serial port adapter bracket down over the card-slot opening. NOTE: The serial port adapter should be installed in an used PCI slot. The PCI expansion card slots are labeled "4" through "6." 5 Before you lower the retention arm, ensure that: • The tops of all cards and filler brackets are flush with the alignment bar. • The notch in the top of the card or filler bracket fits around the alignment guide. 6 Press the retention arm into place, securing the card(s) in the computer. SERIAL2 connector serial port adapter serial adapter cable retention arm 7 Attach the serial adapter cable to the SERIAL2 connector on the system board. 8 Close the computer cover, reconnect the computer and devices to electrical outlets, and then turn them on.
