The following conditions must be satisfied in each of these detection modes. Detection by Document Overlapping Sheets of the same thickness shall be set in the ADF at a time. q Document thickness: 0.05 to 0.26 mm q Punched holes are not allowed within 53 mm (2.12 in) of the vertical center line of the document. q Other paper shall not be glued within 53 mm (2.12 in) of the vertical center line of the document. Detection by Document Length Sheets of the same length shall be set in the ADF at a time. q Document length deviation: 1% or less q Punched holes are not allowed within 53 mm of the vertical center line of the document. Detection by Document Overlapping and Length Sheets of the same thickness and length shall be set in the ADF at a time. q Document thickness: 0.05 to 0.26 mm q Document length deviation: 1% or less q Punched holes are not allowed within 53 mm (2.12 in) of the vertical center line of the document. q Other paper shall not be glued within 53 mm (2.12 in) of the vertical center line of the document. ATTENTION Multifeed detection by overlap will often mis-detect very thick paper or plastic document. When scanning documents like this, disable the multifeed detection. HINT The type of document and document conditions sometimes cause the multifeed detection rate to drop. The multifeed detection is not availabe in the area about 30 mm from the leading edge of the document. file:///D|/Documents%20and%20Settings/scanner/Desktop/Lynx3/06/contents/EN/07/c07_05_01.htm (1 of 2)9/28/2007 2:38:46 PM
