Motors and fans The printer contains five motors that drive the paper pick-up/feed assembly and the image formation assembly. The printer also contains three fans. Figure 5-37 and Table 5-8 illustrate the location of each motor and fan. This motor operates the fusing assembly secondary transfer roller, feed belt, feed roller, ITB contact clutch, ITB cleaning roller contact clutch, and the secondary transfer contact clutch. Pickup motor (M2) The pick-up motor is a two-phase stepping motor. The pick-up motor operates the cassette, multipurpose tray, paper feeder, and registration roller.
