1 Purpose and scope Introduction This software technical reference (STR) provides information about and troubleshooting tips for the printing-system software for the HP LaserJet 9040/9050mfp. NOTE Information relating to networking functions is specific to products that have network capabilities. This document is prepared in an electronic format to serve as a quick-reference tool for Customer Care Center (CCC) agents, support engineers, system administrators, management information systems (MIS) personnel, and HP LaserJet 9040/9050mfp end users, as appropriate. NOTE This STR describes drivers that are shipped with the printing-system software CD. This STR does not describe drivers that might be released for use by support personnel. The following information is included in this technical reference: ■ Descriptions of drivers and platforms with system modifications ■ Procedures for installing and uninstalling software components ■ Descriptions of various topics associated with the HP LaserJet 9040/9050mfp, including engineering details NOTE An addendum to this STR includes system modification information and descriptions of known software issues and workarounds.
