External Mouse or Other Pointing Device, Keyboard, or Numeric Keypad You do not have to shut down the computer to connect an external PS/2-compatible mouse or other pointing device, keyboard, or numeric keypad. After connecting an external PS/2-compatible device, you can use either the external or the integrated device. Parallel and Serial Devices Window 95 automatically detects most new devices and installs device drivers. If a new device does not work correctly, doubleclick the Add New Hardware icon or Printer icon in Control Panel and follow instructions to install device drivers. In Windows NT, refer to the documentation included with a new device for instructions to install NT drivers and to configure the device. You do not have to shut down the computer to connect an external
PS/2-compatible mouse or other pointing device, keyboard, or
numeric keypad. After connecting an external PS/2-compatible
device, you can use either the external or the integrated device.
Parallel and Serial Devices
