Compaq PC Card Solutions List Compaq offers a list of PC Cards, including CardBus and Zoomed Video PC Cards, that are compatible with Compaq computers and meet rigorous Compaq quality standards. PC Cards in the first category, Premier, are comprehensively tested by Compaq. PC Cards in the second category, Standard, are vendor tested and supported on specific Compaq computers and operating systems. The Compaq PC Card Solutions List is updated quarterly and is available on the Compaq Internet site at http://www.compaq.com. You may also be able to obtain the list from your Compaq authorized dealer. PC Cards with this logo on their packaging and advertising are compatible with most Compaq portable computers. Configuring PC Cards Windows 95 automatically configures Plug and Play cards. In Windows NT, refer to Help within the preinstalled CardWare program to configure cards. To run CardWare, double-click the PC Card icon in the system tray on the taskbar, or click StartÆProgramsÆCardWare. For Windows 95 or Windows NT help, click StartÆHelpÆIndex, type PC Card, then double-click a PC Card topic. Or click HelpÆContentsÆTroubleshootingÆ[problem]. If instructed to install card-specific device drivers provided by the card manufacturer, be sure to install only device drivers for Windows 95 (or Windows NT). Do not install card and socket services or enablers. If diskettes are not clearly labeled or the instructions are unclear, call your PC Card manufacturer for more specific instructions. CAUTION: If you install card and socket services or enablers provided by a PC Card manufacturer, you may not be able to use other PC Cards. 10-2 Using PC Cards
