Creating and Modifying Configuration Profiles using the Configuration Wizard Utility The Configuration Wizard allows you to create and manage configuration profiles. A configuration profile consists principally of: • Information that is specified by the system administrator about the client PC workstation's operating environment (such as network configuration information, hard drive partitioning, etc.), and that will subsequently be required by the Windows NT Setup program. Some details (such as the user name or computer name) can be left generic or blank in the profile and customized by the user during installation of the profile onto the client PC workstation. • The operating system version to be used by your client group. • For HP ConfigTailor 1.1 only, one or more software lists applicable to your client group. You can therefore include software lists for several platforms in a single configuration profile. • Instructions on how the deployment process onto client PC workstations will be carried out. It is recommended that you create separate software lists corresponding to specific platforms, and separate configuration profiles for different user environments. For example, you could group all of the HP Kayak PC workstation clients that belong to the same workgroup and use the same version of operating system under the same configuration profile, even if several different client PC 20 English
