NOTE 5 Troubleshooting Common Problems Problems Related to the Creation of, or Installation from, a Deployment Database Solution: Declare the concerned folder as Shared by doing the following (for example, if you forgot to share the folder location you chose for Software): a Open Windows Explorer. b Select the folder location. c Click with the right button, and Choose "Sharing..." option. d Select "Share As" and enter HPSERVER. Define the User Limit and Permissions that you want. (A minimum of Read-Only is required for HP ConfigTailor). e Click on "Apply" to validate and then OK to exit. Error 502 or Error 224 occurs when running Remote Install. These errors may occur during Remote Installation from a deployment database to a client PC workstation, after entering user name and password in Remote Access Information screen. The System Administrator must define a user account on the deployment database server which is allowed to use the Shared folders (refer to "Error in opening an .INI file in path \\...\HPSERVER\... or \\...\OSSERVER\..." on page 53) in order to run HP ConfigTailor Remote Install. A password is mandatory for this specific task. A User Name & Password for this account may be defined and used specifically for performing Remote Installations on client PC workstations. It does not have to be the same as the User Name & Password that will be used once the client PC workstations have been configured under Windows NT 4.0. To set up a user account on the deployment database server: a Go to Start/Programs/Administrative Tools (Common)/User manager. b Click on User Tab, then on New user... c Enter Username and Password. 54 English

Solution:
Declare the concerned folder as Shared by doing the

a
Open Windows Explorer.
b
Select the folder location.
c
Click with the right button, and Choose “Sharing...” option.
