Chapter 6 Troubleshooting Message Operating system not found Keyboard error Mouse error Incorrect System Configuration Corrective Action Check whether the drive from which you are booting has the power and SCSI flat cables connected. Verify that the SCSI cable is securely plugged into the SCSI controller board. Narrow (50-pin) SCSI devices require the wideto-narrow SCSI adapter with the white body on the SCSI cable. Check that the boot device is enabled in the Hardware Security submenu under the Security menu of the Setup utility. If possible, check the drive by moving it to another system. If the problem persists, contact your HP support organization. Verify that the boot device has an operating system installed. Check that the keyboard is connected to the correct connector (not the mouse connector) at the rear of the system. Replace the keyboard. If the problem persists, contact your HP support organization. Check that the mouse is connected to the correct connector (not the keyboard connector) at the rear of the system. Replace the mouse. If the problem persists, contact your HP support organization. Press the F2 key to run the Setup utility. Change settings as required. Press the F10 function key to exit, and answer "Yes" to save the changes. No Error Messages Displayed If a POST error is detected before video display starts, a beep error message may be generated. If so, refer to the list of Beep Codes in Information Assistant.
