Appendix C Warranty and Software License Customer Responsibilities Customer is responsible for the following: 1. Where applicable, before service is provided -- a. Having the HP NetServer's system administrator available for consultation with HP or Reseller; b. Installing HP TopTools for Servers management software; c. Running HP-supplied configuration and diagnostics programs or following the problem determination, problem analysis, and service request procedures that HP or Reseller provides; d. Securing all proprietary and confidential information; e. Securing all programs and data; f. Maintaining a procedure external to the products for reconstruction of lost or altered files, data, or programs; g. Informing HP or Reseller of changes in location of the HP NetServer; and, h. Obtaining any necessary licenses or permits with regard to information provided to HP or Reseller; 2. Travel and labor charges for on-site repairs caused by third-party hardware or software; 3. Loss of, or damage to, an HP NetServer in transit when Customer is responsible for the transportation charges. For on-site service, Customer must provide the following: 1. Access to the product, 2. Adequate working space and facilities within a reasonable distance of the product, 3. Access to and use of all information and facilities determined necessary by HP or Reseller to service the product, and, 4. Operating supplies and consumables such as Customer would use during normal operation. When service is being performed on-site, an authorized representative of Customer must be present or made available upon request at all times. Customer must state if the product is being used in an environment that poses a potential 77

Customer Responsibilities
Customer is responsible for the following:
1.
Where applicable, before service is provided --
a.
Having the HP NetServer's system administrator available for
consultation with HP or Reseller;
b.
Installing HP TopTools for Servers management software;
c.
Running HP-supplied configuration and diagnostics programs or
following the problem determination, problem analysis, and service
request procedures that HP or Reseller provides;
d.
Securing all proprietary and confidential information;
e.
Securing all programs and data;
f.
Maintaining a procedure external to the products for reconstruction of
lost or altered files, data, or programs;
g.
Informing HP or Reseller of changes in location of the HP NetServer;
and,
h.
Obtaining any necessary licenses or permits with regard to information
provided to HP or Reseller;
2.
Travel and labor charges for on-site repairs caused by third-party
hardware or software;
3.
Loss of, or damage to, an HP NetServer in transit when Customer is
