High Enabled (default) Disabled When Error Correction Mode is enabled and an error occurs during fax transmission, the device sends or receives the error portion again. Disabled Enabled (default) The JBIG Compression reduces faxtransmission time, which can result in lower phone charges. However, using JBIG Compression sometimes causes compatibility problems with older fax machines. If this occurs, turn off the JBIG Compression. Select a value from the list. Use this feature to set the maximum baud rate for receiving faxes. This can be used as a diagnostic tool for troubleshooting fax problems. Tone (default) Pulse Select whether the device should use tone or pulse dialing. The range is between 0 and 9. The factory default is 3 times. Type the number of times the device should attempt to redial if the line is busy. Never (default) Once Use this feature to specify the number of times the device should attempt to dial if the recipient fax number does not answer. Twice NOTE Twice is available in locations other than the United States and Canada. The range is between 1 and 5 minutes. The factory default is 5 minutes. Use this feature to specify the number of minutes between dialing attempts if the recipient number is busy or not answering. Enabled Disabled (default) Use this feature to specify whether the device should check for a dial tone before sending a fax. Off (default) Custom Use this feature to specify a prefix number that must be dialed when sending faxes from the device. Off (default) Custom When billing codes are enabled, a prompt appears that asks the user to enter the billing code for an outgoing fax. The range is between 1 and 16 digits. The default is 1 digit.
