Doing so may cause errors and prevent the operating system from installing correctly. Windows-preinstalled Workstations If your unit is a Windows-preinstalled workstation, follow the instructions in this section to setup up your OS and software. Starting up the Operating System The first time you turn on the workstation, the operating system is installed automatically. This process takes about 5 to 10 minutes.
