Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition Setup Setup could not create a system partition automatically. System partitions contains diagnostic or hardware configuration programs, programs to start operating systems (such as Windows), or other manufacturer-supplied programs. You need to create a partition manually and mark it as a system partition. If all the disks are MBR disks then convert one of disks where you want the system partition to reside to GPT disk. To convert a disk to GPT delete all the partitions on the disk, and select "S=Change Disk Style" option. When setup prompts for auto creation of system partition, press ENTER. · To continue, press ENTER. Convert to GPT disk
After both partitions are automatically created, the Disk partitioning screen is
displayed, as in Figure 4-43 on page 143.
Tip:
Once created, the MSR partition is a reserved partition and cannot be
deleted from the Disk partitioning menu. To delete the MSR partition, the
entire disk can be deleted as described in “Checking a disk” on page 100.
