Tip: The second Remote I/O data cable is optional in this configuration. However, it is recommended because it provides redundancy if the other Remote I/O cable fails. The second cable also improves performance. The short interconnect management cable to connect Management A (out) Port to Management B (in) Port is supplied with the second set of PCI slots. Tip: The short interconnect management cable should be removed if you will be managing the configuration using Scalable Systems Manager (once it becomes available; see "Scalable Systems Manager" on page 177). If you are not using Scalable Systems Manager, leave the cable connected as shown. Chapter 3. Planning 73
