12 SET MODE Function Power Save (Default: Auto (Short)) [MENU] > SET > Function > Power Save Sets the Power Save function to reduce the current drain and conserve battery power. When the Power Save function is activated, the call sign or the beginning of the signal may not be received correctly. •• OFF: Turns OFF the function. •• Auto (Short): Sets the Power saving time to "Short." Standby 15 ms Reception→ Disabled 75 ms No signal is received for 5 seconds� •• Auto (Middle): S ets the Power saving time to "Middle." 15 ms 15 ms Standby ～～ Reception→ Disabled 75 ms ↑ 60 s No signal is received for 5 seconds� 150 ms •• Auto (Long): Sets the Power saving time to "Long." Standby 15 ms 15 ms ～～ Reception→ Disabled 75 ms ↑ 60 s No signal is received for 5 seconds� 300 ms NOTE: The Power Save function is disabled when: •• Using an external DC power source. •• Scanning. •• Using the DV Gateway function. •• Using the VOX function. Monitor (Default: Push) [MENU] > SET > Function > Monitor Selects an option for the [SQL] Monitor function. (Basic manual Section 3) •• Push: H old down [SQL] to monitor the frequency. Release to stop monitoring. •• Hold: Push [SQL] momentarily to monitor the frequency and push momentarily again to cancel it. Dial Speed-UP (Default: ON) [MENU] > SET > Function > Dial Speed-UP Turns the Dial Speed Acceleration ON or OFF. The acceleration automatically increases the tuning speed when you rapidly rotate [DIAL]. •• OFF: Turns OFF the function. •• ON: Turns ON the function. Auto Repeater (Default: ON (DUP)) [MENU] > SET > Function > Auto Repeater The Auto repeater function automatically turns the duplex operation and tone encoder ON or OFF. LLThis item is displayed in only the USA version. •• OFF: Turns OFF the function. •• ON (DUP): Turns ON the duplex settings only. •• ON (DUP, TONE): T urns ON the duplex settings and the tone encoder function. Remote MIC Key [MENU] > SET > Function > Remote MIC Key The function assignments for the [A], [B], [], and [] keys on the optional HM-75LS remote control speaker microphone can be changed. See pages 12-19 and 12-20 for the assignable key functions. •• During RX/Standby: The assigned key function is enabled while receiving or in the standby mode. (Default: [A]: BAND [B]: VFO/MR []: UP []: DOWN) •• During TX: The assigned key function is enabled while transmitting. (Default: [A]: T-CALL [B TIP: Volume level adjustment while monitoring •• When "VOL UP"/"VOL DOWN" are assigned, push these keys to adjust the volume level. •• When "VOL UP"/"VOL DOWN" are not assigned, but "UP"/"DOWN" are assigned, push these keys to adjust the volume level. •• When "VOL UP"/"VOL DOWN"/"UP"/"DOWN" are not assigned, push to adjust the volume level, if "Monitor (Push)" or "Monitor (Hold)" is not assigned to 12-18
