Replacing the Front Panel Board (SR1630GP) Caution: The front panel is NOT hot-swappable. Before removing or replacing the front panel, you must first take the server out of service, turn off all peripheral devices connected to the system, turn off the system by pressing the power button, and unplug the AC power cord from the system or wall outlet. You must operate your server with a front panel installed. 1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See "Safety Information" on page iii. 2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable. 3. Remove the server system cover. For instructions, see "Removing the Server System Cover" on page 30. 4. Disconnect the power and data cables connected to HDD1, at the right side of the system. It is not necessary to remove the HDD1 drive. 5. Disconnect the front panel cable, the USB cable, and power cable from the front panel board (see letters "A", "B", and "C"). 6. Remove the two screws that attach the front panel board to the server system. See letter "D" in Figure 65. Save these screws. You will re-install them later. 7. Replacing the Front Panel Board (SR1630GP)
Caution:
The front panel is NOT hot-swappable. Before removing or replacing the front panel, you
must first take the server out of service, turn off all peripheral devices connected to the
system, turn off the system by pressing the power button, and unplug the AC power cord
from the system or wall outlet.
You must operate your server with a front panel installed.
1.
Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See
“Safety
Information” on page iii

2.
Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable.
3.
Remove the server system cover. For instructions, see
“Removing the Server
System Cover” on page 30
.
4.
Disconnect the power and data cables connected to HDD1, at the right side of the
system. It is not necessary to remove the HDD1 drive.
5.
Disconnect the front panel cable, the USB cable, and power cable from the front
panel board (see letters “A”, “B”, and “C”).
6.
Remove the two screws that attach the front panel board to the server system. See
letter “D” in Figure 65. Save these screws. You will re-install them later.
7.
Lift the front panel board from the system. See letter “E” in Figure 65.
