Installing a secondary hard disk drive into the Serial Ultrabay Slim bay You can upgrade the capacity of your computer by installing a secondary hard disk drive. To install a secondary hard disk drive into your computer, do the following: 1. If another Serial Ultrabay Slim device or a dummy device is installed in the Serial Ultrabay Slim bay, remove the device. See detailed instructions in "Replacing the Serial Ultrabay Slim device" on page 92. 2. Install the hard disk drive into the ThinkPad Serial Hard Drive Bay Adapter III (hard disk drive adapter), which is available as an option. Installing a secondary hard disk drive into the Serial Ultrabay Slim bay
You can upgrade the capacity of your computer by installing a secondary hard disk drive.
To install a secondary hard disk drive into your computer, do the following:
1. If another Serial Ultrabay Slim device or a dummy device is installed in the Serial Ultrabay Slim bay,
remove the device. See detailed instructions in “Replacing the Serial Ultrabay Slim device” on page 92.
2. Install the hard disk drive into the ThinkPad Serial Hard Drive Bay Adapter III (hard disk drive adapter),
which is available as an option. See detailed instructions in “Installing a secondary hard disk drive into
the hard disk drive adapter” on page 98.
Note:
The ThinkPad Serial Hard Drive Bay Adapter III supports only 2.5-inch (7 mm height) hard disk
drives.
3. Install the hard disk drive with adapter into the Serial Ultrabay Slim bay of your computer. See detailed
