2 Pre-Installation This chapter provides information that is important to consider before installing GroupShield for Exchange 7.0. Topics covered are: „ Pre-Installation scenarios „ System requirements Pre-Installation scenarios You MUST log on to Microsoft® Windows as a domain administrator. This gives you relevant rights and permissions to install GroupShield. Before installing GroupShield: „ Make sure Microsoft® Exchange Server 2003/2007 is installed on the installation server. „ Manually uninstall GroupShield software older than version 6.0.2. GroupShield for Exchange 7.0 supports automatic upgrading of the software from version 6.0.2 and above. Note „ Uninstall SpamKilller for Exchange using the Windows Add/Remove Programs feature. GroupShield for Exchange 7.0 does not support upgrading of SpamKiller software. Caution 21
