GS108T Smart Switch Software Administration Manual Time SNTP (Simple Network Time Protocol) synchronizes time across the network. • The time interval at which the switch polls for time is called the polling time and is set to 30 minutes. As long as the NTP/SNTP server is reachable, the switch polls for time every 30 minutes and updates the system time. • The time out period is the time duration for which the switch will wait for a reply from the server. Time out is set to 15 seconds. If two NTP/SNTP servers are specified and neither one is available, then the total time out will be 30 seconds. You can specify whether to set the system time manually or with an SNTP server. 1. Click Time in the blue navigation panel. A screen similar to that shown below appears. . Figure 3-13 2. Time
SNTP (Simple Network Time Protocol) synchronizes time across the network.
The time interval at which the switch polls for time is called the
polling time
and is set to 30
minutes. As long as the NTP/SNTP server is reachable, the switch polls for time every 30
minutes and updates the system time.
