Vibration Reduction Press the d button M z menu icon M Vibration reduction M k button Select the vibration reduction setting used when shooting. Select Off when using a tripod to stabilize the camera during shooting. Option Description Compensates camera shake that commonly occurs when shooting at telephoto zoom positions or slow shutter speeds. The camera automatically detects the panning g Normal (default setting) direction and only compensates for vibration caused by camera shake. When the camera is panned horizontally, for example, vibration reduction only reduces vertical shake. If the camera is panned vertically, vibration reduction only compensates for horizontal shake. Z Active Camera shake is automatically compensated during shooting if a comparatively large camera shake is likely to occur when shooting from a car or under poor foothold conditions. Off Compensation is not performed. B Notes About Vibration Reduction • After turning on the camera or after switching from playback mode to shooting mode, wait for the shooting mode screen to be displayed completely before taking pictures. • Images in the camera monitor may be displayed blurry immediately after shooting. • Vibration reduction may be unable to completely eliminate the effects of camera shake in some situations.
