ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES Terminal Mode End Messages (Function 37) Ref.: SFX2000M User Guide, Appendix, Entering Characters, page 78; The Quick Dial Keys in Terminal Mode, page 16 Asynchronous switches send messages, known as end messages, to indicate successful linking. If you have programmed the switch's end message, transmission will begin automatically as soon as the SFX2000M receives the message from the switch. The SFX2000M will compare the incoming message with those that have been programmed. It will push its own Start button when it finds a match. The match must be exact, including all spaces and other characters. Some possible end messages are • CONNECTED • SERVICE ESTABLISHED • LINK UP • READY • NETWORK ROUTE OK Consult the switch's operation manual for the messages appropriate for your connections. Programming an End Message Up to five messages, with a maximum of 20 characters each, can be stored in the SFX2000M. A message can consist of letters, symbols, and numbers. The characters are entered with the Quick Dial keys and the keypad. If needed, symbols can be entered with shifted Quick Dial keys.
