198 Exploring Your Options Using your IR remote controller Important Information about the remote control The following is additional information that will be helpful when using the remote control feature: ❖ Volume controls only work when the Windows XP operating system is running. ❖ The remote can be used up to 16.4 feet and within 30 degrees of the infrared port. For best results, point the remote toward the infrared port when pressing a control button. ❖ If your remote control does not work within the specified range or angle, change the battery. Use only a CR2025 battery. ❖ When exchanging data with another device via the infrared port, the remote control will not work. ❖ If the infrared element on the remote control is exposed to either fluorescent light or direct sunlight, the remote control might not work. ❖ Only the remote control that comes with your Satellite 5205 Series Computer will work. You cannot use another type of remote control.
