Troubleshooting Phaser 750 Printers Enabling the PostScript error report The error handling utility helps diagnose problems when a job doesn't print; it provides a PostScript error-handling function to help determine the cause of some PostScript printing problems. When the error handler is enabled, PostScript errors and other status information are printed. This utility is useful for debugging PostScript code. 1. In the printer's front panel, press Help. 2. Press until the front panel displays this message: Printer Administration Menu 3. Press Menu. 4. Scroll to this message: Post Script Error Info Menu 5. Press Menu; this message appears: On or Off Menu The * indicates the current selection; disabled is the factory default. 6. Scroll to On. 7. Press Ok. 8. Press until the front panel reads Ready. After turning on the error handler, resend the print job; the printer produces an error page. Note Windows 95/Windows 98 Microsoft Driver users: The Windows error handler overrides the front panel error handler. To use the front panel error handler, you must disable the Windows error handler as well as enable the front panel error handler. Go to the Windows PostScript tab and uncheck the box Print PS Error Info. Windows NT does not have an error handler. Windows 95/Windows 98 Tek Adobe Driver uses the printer error handler.
