Step 2: Connect Your Cables Next, for an Internet connection, connect your PowerBook to a phone line, DSL modem, cable modem, or Ethernet network. If you're connecting to a wireless AirPort Extreme 802.11b or 802.11g network, you don't need cables. To connect to a phone line: m Connect the phone cord from a wall jack to the internal modem port for a dial-up connection. Warning: Do not connect a digital phone line to the modem; the wrong type of line could damage the modem.
