Threading the needle Cut the thread with the thread cutter on the b left side of the machine. This section describes how to thread the needle. Memo z The needle threader can be used with sewing machine needles 75/11 through 100/16. z Thread with a thickness of 130/20 or thicker cannot be used with the needle threader. z The needle threader cannot be used with the wing needle or the twin needle. z If the needle threader cannot be used, refer to "Threading the needle manually (without using the needle threader)" (page 33). Pull the end of the thread, which has been a passed through the needle bar thread guide, to the left (A), and then firmly pull it from the front (B) through the slit in the thread guide disk. a 1 a Thread cutter Note z When using thread that quickly winds off the spool, such as metallic thread, it may be difficult to thread the needle if the thread is cut. Threading the needle
This section describes how to thread the needle.
Memo
The needle threader can be used with
sewing machine needles 75/11 through
100/16.
Thread with a thickness of 130/20 or thicker
cannot be used with the needle threader.
The needle threader cannot be used with the
wing needle or the twin needle.
If the needle threader cannot be used, refer
to “Threading the needle manually (without
using the needle threader)” (page 33).

Pull the end of the thread, which has been
passed through the needle bar thread guide, to
the left (A), and then firmly pull it from the
front (B) through the slit in the thread guide
disk.

Cut the thread with the thread cutter on the
left side of the machine.

Note
When using thread that quickly winds off the
spool, such as metallic thread, it may be
difficult to thread the needle if the thread is
cut.
Therefore, instead of using the thread cutter,
pull out about 80 mm (approx. 3 inches) of
thread after passing it through the thread
guide disks (marked “7”).
