CHAPTER 7 TROUBLESHOOTING CHAPTER 7 TROUBLESHOOTING ALARM INDICATIONS AT A GLANCE Operator Calls for the Printing Function If a recoverable error occurs, the machine indicates an 'operator call' by blinking the Alarm lamp and any of the following lamps. Find the error and take the proper action to correct it. The machine automatically recovers from most errors, but you may need to reset the machine with the panel switch as described below. Blinking Lamp Paper r£q Alarmr£q Toner r£q Alarmr£q (every 5 seconds) Toner r£q Alarmr£q (Fast blinking) Error Paper jam Paper empty Misfeed Toner low Action Clear the paper jam referring to the next section "PAPER JAMS" and press the panel switch if the machine does not automatically resume printing. Load paper in the machine referring to Chapter 2 and press the panel switch. Reinstall the paper and press the panel switch. Indicates that the machine has approximately 100 pages of printing left before the toner cartridge is empty. Prepare a new toner cartridge. Toner Empty Replace the toner cartridge with a new one referring to Chapter 6. 7-1
