Paper feed section, paper end sensor, control board Visually check the paper feed unit Check for jammed paper or deformed/ damaged/broken gears. No OK? Yes Switch on with the cover open Repair or replace faulty parts Check the operation of paper feed unit Check the paper feed motor, pick-up roller, paper feed roller, and eject roller for movement during initialization. Check for noise. Check the paper feed motor for out-of-step. OK? Yes No Repair or replace Replace the control board Paper feed check Check that the pick-up roller rotates and the ASF feeds paper normally. OK? Check the pick-up roller's rubber rings and the
separation sheet for cleanliness, wear, or degradation.
Check the rod cam for engagement. Check the gears
for deformation, damage, and phase.
Repair or replace
faulty parts
Switch on with the
cover open
Paper feed check
Check that the pick-up roller rotates and the ASF feeds paper
normally.
Check the ASF unit
Repair or replace
Replace the control board
