BJ cartridges, carriage board, control board, carriage ribbon cable, contacts between BJ cartridge and carriage Visually check that BJ cartridges are installed • Check that the Black or Photo BJ cartridge is on the left and the Color BJ cartridge is on the right side of the carriage. • Check if the cartridge lock lever is locked. • Check the carriage ribbon cable for folds or other damage. OK? Yes No Repair or replace faulty parts Remove and replace the BJ cartridges Remove both the left and right BJ cartridge. No Error indication? Yes END Reinstall the BJ cartridges Reinstall both the right and left BJ cartridges. No Error indication? Yes 1. Replace the control board 2.Replace the carriage ribbon cable 3.Replace the carriage board. END 5-28

• Check that the Black or Photo BJ cartridge is on the left

Visually check that BJ
cartridges are installed

Repair or replace

Reinstall the BJ
cartridges
Remove and replace
the BJ cartridges

Reinstall both the right and left BJ cartridges.
