Special Recording Modes 118 Continuous Recording Once the continuous recording starts, the camcorder will keep recording continuously until you access the menu to stop it. This will create a backup recording to make sure you do not miss any shooting opportunities. In this mode, video and audio are recorded on both cards. Use the menu to start/stop the continuous recording. While the continuous clip is being recorded on SD card B, you can use the camera's REC button to record 'normal' (non-continuous) clips as usual on SD card A. The configuration of the continuous recording on SD card B is as follows. Resolution: 1920x1080 Video format: MP4 Audio format: 4-channel linear PCM, 16 bit Menu operation: Set [Continuous Recording] to [REC] Set [Continuous Recording] to [STBY] SD card B Continuous recording SD card A B only starts A starts A only stops Normal recording A only starts Recording stops on both cards Normal recording REC button operation: Press the REC button* Press the REC button Press the REC button * When continuous recording mode is activated and both cards are in recording standby, you can also press the REC button to start recording on both cards. Operating modes: Activating 1 Set the main recording format to [MP4 (SD Card)] (A 64). 2 Open the [Recording Mode] submenu. > [Æ ! Recording/Media Setup] > [Recording Mode] 3 Select [Continuous Recording] and then press the joystick. • The continuous recording mode is activated and [CONT STBY'7] appears at the top of the screen. The normal recording indicator changes to [STBY'6]. Recording 1 Open the [Continuous Recording] submenu. > [Æ ! Recording/Media Setup] > [Continuous Recording] 2 Select [REC] and then press the joystick. • The tally lamp illuminates and continuous recording starts on SD card B. [CONT STBY'7] changes to [ÜCONT REC'7]. 3 While recording continues on SD card B, you can use the REC button to record normal (non-continuous) recordings on SD card A. • Press the REC button to start recording on SD card A. [STBY'6] changes to [REC'6]. Press the REC button again to stop recording only on SD card A. • Alternatively, when both SD cards are in recording standby, you can press the REC button to begin recording on both cards.
