Preparing Recording Media Relay Recording and Double Slot Recording The camera features two convenient recording methods that can be used when both SD card slots contain an SD card: relay recording and double slot recording. Relay recording: This function allows you to continue recording on another SD card without interruption if the SD 51 card you are using becomes full. Relay recording is available from SD card slot A to SD card slot B, and vice versa. Double slot recording: This function records the same clip simultaneously to both SD cards, which is a convenient way to make a backup copy of your recording while you record. Operating modes: To use relay recording 1 Open the [Relay Recording] submenu. > [Æ # Recording/Media Setup] > [Relay Recording] 2 Select [On] and then press the joystick. To use double slot recording 1 Open the [Double Slot Recording] submenu. > [Æ # Recording/Media Setup] > [Double Slot Recording] 2 Select [On] and then press the joystick. • 4 appears at the top of the screen. NOTES • Relay recording (the switch to the other SD card) will not be performed during slow motion recording even if the recording media becomes full. • If an SD card becomes full during double slot recording, recording on both cards will stop. On the other hand, if an error occurs with one of the SD cards, recording will continue on the other card. • Double slot recording cannot be used together with relay recording, slow motion recording or continuous recording. Checking the Remaining Recording Time on Recording Media In mode, the display on the upper left of the screen shows the recording media icons and the remaining recording time1 (in minutes) on each card (A 58). On the [Media] status screen (A 201), you can check the total space, and used space on each recording media. For SD cards only, the remaining recording time, remaining number of photos and speed class are displayed as well. 1 Remaining recording times are approximate and calculated based on the current video configuration used.
