7 Wi-Fi Functions About the Wi-Fi Functions This camcorder's Wi-Fi functions use either an infrastructure or camera access point connection, depending on the function. Refer to the following table for a brief summary of the Wi-Fi functions. 123 Wi-Fi functions and connection types Function Description Wi-Fi connection Infrastructure1 Camera Access Point2 A Browser Remote Control the camcorder remotely from the Web browser of a connected device. - Ü 131 Access the photos on the SD card in the camcorder from the Playback via Browser Web browser of a connected device to play back or save - locally. Ü 135 Media Server Wirelessly view on a computer the photos on the camcorder's SD card. Ü - 136 1 Connection to a Wi-Fi network via an external access point (wireless router, etc.) 2 Direct connection to one Wi-Fi-enabled device, such as a smartphone, where the camcorder serves as the Wi-Fi access point. Before using the Wi-Fi functions • The instructions in this chapter assume you already have a correctly configured and working network, network device(s) and/or Wi-Fi access point. If necessary, refer to the documentation provided with the network devices you want to use. • Configuring the network settings requires adequate knowledge about configuring and using wireless (Wi-Fi) networks. Canon cannot provide support regarding network configurations. IMPORTANT • Canon shall not be liable for any loss of data or damage resulting from incorrect network configuration or settings. Additionally, Canon shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused by the use of Wi-Fi functions. • Using an unprotected Wi-Fi network can expose your files and data to monitoring by unauthorized third parties.
