fcping Description Verifies a Fibre Channel connection with another switch or a device and reports status. Authority None Syntax fcping destination [address] count [number] timeout [seconds] Operands [address] The address of the port or device with which to verify the Fibre Channel connection. [address] can have one of the following formats: • 6-character hexadecimal device Fibre Channel address (hex). Enter addresses with or without the "0x" prefix. • 16-character hexadecimal world wide port name (WWPN) with the format xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx or xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. count [number] Number of times given by [number] to repeat the command. If you omit this keyword, the command is repeated once. timeout [seconds] Number of seconds given by [seconds] to wait for a response. If you omit this keyword, the switch waits 1 second for a response.
