Troubleshooting Information Table E-9: Problems After Initial Boot continued Problem Possible Cause Server cannot load the operating system Required operating system step was missed. Installation problem occurred. Problem was encountered with the hardware that you added to the system. Possible Solution Follow these steps: 1. Note at which phase the operating system failed. 2. Remove any loaded operating system. 3. Refer to your operating system documentation. 4. Reinstall the operating system. Refer to your operating system documentation and to the SmartStart Release Notes on the SmartStart CD. Use the ROM-Based Setup Utility to troubleshoot where the installation failed. Refer to the documentation provided with the hardware. Run the ROM-Based Setup Utility to determine if drives are properly attached to the primary boot controller.
