TCP Visual Observation. Damaged TCP Warning: DO NOT attempt to run the set with the Heat Sink over the TCPs removed. After a very short time, these ICs will begin to self destruct due to overheating. This damaged TCP can, (at the location of the TCP). a) Cause the Power Supply to shutdown. (VA shorted, 3.3V shorted). b) Generate abnormal vertical bars, (colored noise). c) Cause the entire area driven by the TCP to be "All White" or "ALL BLACK". d) Cause a "Single Pixel Width Line" defect. This damaged TCP can, (at the location of the TCP).
a)
Cause the Power Supply to shutdown. (VA shorted, 3.3V shorted).
b)
Generate abnormal vertical bars, (colored noise).
c)
Cause the entire area driven by the TCP to be “All White” or “ALL BLACK”.
d)
Cause a “Single Pixel Width Line” defect. The line can be Red, Green or Blue.
e)
A dirty contact at the connector can cause b, c and d also.
