Glossary of terms Sleep Mode A mode designed to save battery life. The camera automatically enters the sleep mode if you do not operate it for a certain time. To get out of the sleep mode, use any button on the camera (shutter button, arrow pad, etc.). Synchro Terminals Terminals on an external flash unit for connecting it to the camera. TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) An uncompressed format used for saving highly detailed black and white or color image data. TIFF image files can be handled by software programs for scanners and graphics applications. TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) Color Monitor A transistor color monitor constructed using thin-film technology. TTL (Through-The-Lens) System To help adjust exposure, a light receptor built into the camera directly measures the light passing through the lens. TTL-AUTO For use with an external flash. Light emitted by the flash is measured by the light receptor in the camera as it passes through the lens. A signal is then sent to adjust the external flash intensity. 11 251 Miscellaneous
