DVD740VR 4/12/02 12:09 PM Page 40 40 Real-Time Tape Counter Memory VCR Follow the steps below to reset the real-time tape counter to zero at a tape location you want to refer to later. q Before you begin, place the DVD/VCR in VCR mode. Press OUTPUT SELECT so the green VIDEO light appears on the front of the DVD/VCR. 1 Press VCR, then play, fast forward, or rewind a tape to the location that you would like to refer to later. Press STOP C (p) to stop the tape. 2 Press DISPLAY/STATUS/EXIT to see the status display. STOP TV STEREO 1:08PM CH10 SLP 1 : 23 : 45 HIFI 3 While the status display is on the screen, press CLEAR to reset the real-time tape counter to zero. STOP TV STEREO 1:08 PM CH10 5 SLP 0 : 00 : 00 HIFI MARKER POWER SETUP AUDIO SUBTITLE ANGLE REC/OTR TITLE REPEAT CHANNEL/SKIP CLEAR MODE REPEAT A-B RETURN OUTPUT SELECT DVD DISC VCR MENU OK STOP PLAY REW FF PAUSE TIMER SET 1 23 VCR/TV 4 56 MEMORY 7 89 +10 0 SPEED SEARCH MODE DISPLAY ZOOM SLOW TIME SEARCH STATUS/EXIT 3 1 4 2 4 While the real-time tape counter is on the screen, press MEMORY so M appears beside the counter. STOP TV STEREO 1:08 PM CH10 SLP M 0 : 00 : 00 HIFI 5 To go to a tape location where the real-time tape counter was reset to zero, press REW h (s) or FF g(B) when playback is stopped. When the tape reaches the point at which the counter was set to zero, the tape will stop. Press PLAY B (o) to watch the tape. Helpful Hints • The MEMORY button does not function if REPEAT PLAY is ON. Details are on page 39. • To erase a real-time tape counter memory, press MEMORY until the M disappears from the screen. • You may only set the real-time tape counter to zero at one location at a time. Setting the real-time tape counter to zero at a second location will erase the previous zero setting. • If you remove the tape, the counter will reset to zero at the point at which you last stopped playback whenever you reinsert the tape.
