When the Machine does Not Print Checking the port connection When the printer is directly connected via computer cable and the data-in indicator does not flash or light up, port connection should be configured as follows: • For parallel connection, set port LPT1 or LPT2. • For a USB connection, set port USB00 (n). (n) is the number of printers connected. Windows 95/98/Me 1. Click the [Start] button, point to [Settings], and then click [Printers]. 2. Click the icon of the machine. On the [File] menu, click [Properties]. 3. Click the [Details] tab. 4. In the [Print to the following port:] list, confirm the correct port is selected. Windows 2000 1. Click the [Start] button, point to [Settings], and then click [Printers]. 2. Click the icon of the machine. On the [File] menu, click [Properties]. 3. Click the [Ports] tab. 4. In the [Print to the following port(s)] list, confirm the correct port is selected. Windows XP Professional, Windows Server 2003 1. Click the [Start] button, and then click [Printers and Faxes]. 2.
