Operational Guidelines ■ Do not block or cover the slots and openings on the printer. The printer may overheat without adequate ventilation. ■ For optimum performance, use the printer at elevations below 3,000 m (11,480 ft.). ■ Do not place the printer near a heat source. ■ Do not place the printer in direct sunlight. ■ Do not place the printer in line with the cold air flow from an air conditioning system. ■ Place the printer on a level, solid non-vibrating surface with adequate strength for the weight of the printer. It should be within 2° of horizontal with all four feet in solid contact with the surface. The base printer weight without any packaging materials is approximately 41 kg (90 lbs.). Printer Supplies ■ Use the supplies specifically designed for your printer. The use of unsuitable materials may cause poor performance and a possible safety hazard. ■ Follow all warnings and instructions marked on, or supplied with, the printer, options and supplies. Moving the Printer ■ Always use two people to lift the printer. 5500-267 ■ Always turn off the printer using the power switch and unplug all cables and cords. ■ Always lift the printer from the designated lift points. ■ Do not place any food or liquids on the printer. ■ Failure to repackage the printer properly for shipment can result in damage to the printer not covered by the warranty, service agreement, or Total Satisfaction Guarantee. ■ Damage to the printer caused by improper moving is not covered by the Xerox warranty, service agreement, or Total Satisfaction Guarantee.
