INTRODUCTION PREPARATION BASIC OPERATION HDMI™ Troubleshooting Problem Cause Remedy No picture or sound. The number of the connected HDMI components is over the limit. Disconnect some of the HDMI components. The connected HDMI component does not support high-bandwidth digital copyright protection (HDCP). Connect an HDMI component that supports HDCP. Tuner (FM/AM) See page - 81 Problem Cause Remedy FM stereo reception is noisy. There is distortion, and FM clear reception cannot be obtained even with a good FM antenna. The desired station cannot be tuned into with the automatic tuning method. The desired station cannot be tuned into with the automatic tuning method. There are continuous AM crackling and hissing noises. There are buzzing and whining noises. You are too far from the station transmitter or the input from the antenna is weak. There is multi-path interference. You are in an area far from a station or an input from the antenna is weak. The signal is weak or the antenna connections are loose. Supplied AM loop antenna is not connected. The noises may be caused by lightning, fluorescent lamps, motors, thermostats and other electrical equipment. A TV set is being used nearby. Check the antenna connections. Replace the outdoor antenna with a more sensitive multi-element antenna. Switch to monaural mode. Adjust the antenna height or orientation, or place it in a different location. Replace an outdoor antenna with more sensitive multi element antenna. Tune in manually or by direct frequency tuning. Adjust the AM loop antenna orientation. Use the manual tuning method. Connect the AM loop antenna correctly even if you use an outdoor antenna. It is difficult to completely eliminate noise, but it can be reduced by installing and properly grounding an outdoor AM antenna. Move this unit away from the TV set. HD Radio™ Reception (U.S.A. model only) See page 18 - 48 - - 29 18 29 18 18 - Problem Cause Remedy This unit cannot receive the HD Radio signals of the selected radio station. The radio station provides analog FM/AM radio service only. The signal is too weak. Select other radio stations that provides the HD Radio service. Adjust the antenna position.
