Obtaining an IP Address Automatically 25 Windows Vista 1 From the Windows Start Menu, select Settings > Network. 2 Click on Organize. Select Properties. 3 Click on Manage network > Connections. 4 Double click Local Area Connection. Select Properties and click continue. 5 A screen similar to (Figure 8) should appear. Select Internet Protocol Version 6,Version 4 (TCP/IPv6,v4) and click on Properties.
