Accessing the Setup Wizard 41 L2TP mode The Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) provides a standard method for transporting the link layer of the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) between a dial-up server and a Network Access Server, using a network connection in lieu of a physical point-to-point connection. This mode is most often used in Israel. To set up the Router for use with a L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol) connection, use the following procedure: Figure 27 L2TP Screen 1 Enter the L2TP Server information. 2 Enter the User ID and Password required by your ISP. 3 Retype the password. 4 Enter the maximum Idle Timeout for the Internet connection. After this time has been exceeded the connection will be terminated. 5 Check the Get IP By DHCP box to receive IP address from your ISP's DHCP function. If this box is not checked, enter the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default Gateway information on the corresponding fields. 6 Check all of your settings, and then click Next. The LAN Settings screen will then be displayed (refer to Figure 28).
