PROBLEM 1. The display stays blank after you have turned on the machine or abnormal characters are displayed. 2. The machine does not print or the printed characters are blurred. 3. The printed characters are not formed properly. 4. Striped tape appears. 5. In multi-color print mode, the tape cannot be fed after the machine's power supply was suddenly cut (e.g. the power button was pressed or there was a power failure) while rewinding the tape, which caused the rewinding gear to remain engaged. REMEDY •Check that the AC adaptor is attached properly. •If you are using alkaline batteries, check that they are properly inserted. •If the batteries are low, replace them. •Hold down CODE and R keys and press the ON/OFF key twice to reset the machine. The display and all contents of the memory are also deleted. •Check that the tape cassette has been inserted properly. •If the tape cassette is empty, replace it with a new one. •Make sure that the tape cassette cover has been closed. •If you are using alkaline batteries, they may be low. Try using the AC adaptor. •You have reached the end of the tape. Replace it with a new tape. •Open the tape compartment cover, remove the multi-color tape cassette, then close the cover. Turn on the power and press the FEED key to disengage the rewinding gear, causing the message "NO TAPE!" to be displayed. 125

PROBLEM
REMEDY
1. The display stays blank after you have
turned on the machine or abnormal cha-
racters are displayed.
Check that the AC adaptor is attached
properly.
If you are using alkaline batteries, check
that they are properly inserted.
If the batteries are low, replace them.
Hold down
CODE
and
R
keys and press
the
ON/OFF
key twice to reset the mac-
hine.
The display and all contents of the
memory are also deleted.
2. The machine does not print or the printed

Check that the tape cassette has been
inserted properly.
If the tape cassette is empty, replace it
with a new one.
Make sure that the tape cassette cover
has been closed.

You have reached the end of the tape.
Replace it with a new tape.
