Notes on Handling BJ Cartridges Note • Do not attempt to reattach the protective cap and protective tape after removing them. Observe all local regulations regarding the location and method of disposing of them. • Do not leave an empty ink tank in a BJ cartridge. Remove it immediately after ink runs out, and replace it with a new ink tank. • If, for some reason, you remove a usable ink tank from the BJ cartridge, re-insert the ink tank right away. Otherwise the ink will dry and print jobs may not be performed properly when you install the ink tank later. • For optimum print quality, an ink tank or BJ cartridge should be used up within six months or a year respectively, after opening the original packaging. Replacing the Ink Tanks I When you replace an ink tank or BJ cartridge... The BC-30 Black, BC-33 Color, and BC-34 Photo BJ Cartridges contain replaceable ink tanks. Ink tanks and BJ cartridges are consumable items. After an ink tank runs out of ink, or after a print head wears out, replace the item.
