Cleaning the Printer After routine use, paper dust and room dust may accumulate around the paper output tray and other parts of the printer. Clean the printer periodically. Caution To avoid personal injury from burns or electrical shock or damage to the printer during cleaning, never use a flammable solvent such as thinner, benzene or alcohol. 1 Press the POWER button ( ) to turn the printer off. Check the POWER light and make sure that it is not on or blinking. Note Do not unplug the power cord when the POWER light is on or flashing. This can damage the printer. 2 Make sure that the POWER light is off, then unplug the power cord from the power outlet. Caution To avoid personal injury from touching printer components, always unplug the printer before cleaning. Routine Maintenance 309
