About the Printer Cable The printer is equipped with a parallel interface and USB interface. To connect the printer to your computer, you need a printer cable that supports bi-directional communication. Check the interface connector of your computer, and follow the instructions in your Quick Start Guide to set up the printer. Recommended printer cable speciﬁcations are as follows: Parallel printer cable - IEEE 1284-compatible Material Type Length Connectors AWG28 or larger Twisted-pair shielded cable Up to 6.5 ft (2.0m) Amphenol 30360 or equivalent USB printer cables - USB 1.0-compatible Material Type Length Connectors AWG28 (data wiring pair) or AWG20 to 28 (distribution pair) Twisted-pair shielded cable Up to 16.4 ft (5.0m) USB standard Series B Connecting and Turning On the Printer 31
