Making the Most of the Printer Driver 4 Check the Simulate Illustration checkbox to enable the setting. The appearance of the image data in the preview area changes (as if the photograph is converted to an illustration) at this time. 5 If necessary, drag the slide bar to increase or decrease the contrast. 6 Click the OK button to return to the Main tab. 7 Click the OK button to close the Printer Properties dialog box and start the print job. Note • The Simulate Illustration setting can be used with the Monochrome Effects setting. Setting Monochrome Effects • When Background Printing is disabled in the Page Layout tab, the Simulate Illustration setting is grayed out and cannot be used. • When Black is selected in the Main tab, the Simulate Illustration setting is grayed out and cannot be used. Setting Monochrome Effects Use this setting when you want to give expression to an image by using a monochrome effect. 1 Open the Printer Properties dialog box, then click the Main tab. 2 Disable Grayscale Print by unchecking the Grayscale Print checkbox. 3 Click the Advanced button.
