: Protecting Images You can protect important images and movies so that they cannot be erased by the camera (pp. 25, 113). Select [Protect]. ● Press the n button and select the 1 tab, then select [Protect] and press the m button. Select a selection method. ● Press the op buttons or turn the  dial, select a selection method, and press the m button. ● To cancel, or return to the menu screen, press the n button. If you format the memory card (p. 50), protected images will also be erased. Protected images cannot be erased with the camera's erase function. To erase an image, cancel protection first. Designating Images Individually Select [Order]. ● Follow Step 2 above to select [Select], and press the m button. ● Follow Step 2 on p. 113 to select an image. X Once set, will appear on the screen. ● Pressing the m button once more will cancel selection, and will disappear. ● When selecting multiple images, repeat the above operation. 117

Select [Protect].
Press the
