Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network 120 Camera Access Point In this mode the camcorder itself serves as a wireless access point to which other Wi-Fi-enabled devices can connect. Initially, basic settings for a Camera Access Point connection (network name (SSID): [XF405- or XF400-xxxx_Canon0C], password: [12345678]) are already saved under network configuration profile [1:]. You can use the default settings to connect immediately to the camcorder or follow the procedure below if you wish to change the settings. Operating modes: 1 Select [Connection Settings]. > [B ! System Setup] > [Network Settings] > [Connection Settings] 2 Select the desired network configuration profile and then select [Camera Access Point]. Network configuration profile ([1:] to [4:]) > [i] > [Edit] > [Camera Access Point] • You can save up to 4 network configuration profiles in the camcorder. If necessary, touch [Í]/[Î] to scroll up/down. 3 Enter the SSID (network name) the camcorder will use as a Wi-Fi access point. [Edit] > Enter the desired network name using the keyboard screen (A 120) > [OK] • The network name is needed to connect the network device to the camcorder. If necessary, write it down. 4 Touch [5 GHz] or [2.4 GHz] to select the frequency band for the Wi-Fi connection. 5 Touch [Í] or [Î] to select the desired channel and then touch [OK]. • Available channels will differ depending on the selected frequency band. 6 Touch [Open/No encryption] or [WPA2-PSK/AES] to select the encryption method. • If you selected [Open/No encryption], skip to step 8. 7 Enter the encryption key (password). [Edit] > Enter the desired password using the keyboard screen (A 120) > [OK] • This password is needed to connect the network device to the camcorder. If necessary, write it down. 8 Continue with the following procedure to configure the IP address assignment (A 121). Using the virtual keyboard screen . 1 Touch the keys on the screen to enter the desired text. • Touch [Ï]/[Ð] to change the position of the cursor. • Touch [123] to switch between letters and numbers/special characters. • Touch [›] to delete the character to the cursor's left. • Touch [A/a] for caps lock. When the numerical keyboard is displayed, [#%?] switches between set 1 and set 2 of special characters. Current character / Character limit • When entering passwords and other sensitive information, the character entered will change to a "Ü" after a moment to protect the information. 2 After entering the desired text, touch [OK].
